Pakistan: police refuse to investigate brutal attack on disabled Christian

CWN – February 28, 2013

Police in Faisalabad, Pakistan’s third-largest city, are refusing to investigate the stabbing of Khalid Masih, a disabled Christian. Masih was also shot in the kneecaps.

The attack on Masih followed his attempt to mediate a dispute between a Muslim and a Christian.

“I want justice, but no one supports me to open an investigation or initiate investigations against my assailants,” said Masih. “I am a poor Christian and pray for others, and all I am asking for is justice.”

Masih “deserves justice and should be assisted in all situations, including legal,” said Father Aftab James Paul, director of the local diocesan commission for interreligious dialogue.
